Dear Parents and Carers,
This week has been a buzz of excitement! Congratulations to our new School Council Representatives who did a grand job with their presentations.
The children have been working exceptionally hard this week - Preschool have been finding treasure in the sand, Reception have started their phonics lessons and have been learning m, a & s, Year 1 listened to different pieces of music and drew different types of lines as a response to music. They used straight, wavy, zig-zag, dotted and dashed lines with a variety of media and worked togetherto produce their final piece. Year 2 have been learning about the history of the first flight. They have been introduced to the Wrightbrothers who created and designed planes and worked in groups to create freeze frames. This week Years 3 and 4 have been learning about our amazing bodies.
Year 3 made models of hands to show how the muscles and tendons move, while Year 4 made models of teeth to demonstrate the different functions. Year 5 have been very engaged with their learning, especially whilst learning about the Vikings. They have created their own board games in the style of snakes and ladders to represent Viking trade routes and to explore what might hinder their trading. It’s been a busy start to the year for Year 6, but they have been thoroughly enjoying their art topic about photography. Here are some photographic recreations of classic paintings - can you workout which is the original?!
Have a wonderful weekend,
Mrs Lawrence
