Dear Parents and Carers,
I hope you have all had a positive week and are looking forward to the weekend. This week Y4 held their class celebrations - it was lovely to see so many families celebrating their children’s successes and joining in with their learning. Thank you to year 4 for hosting.
Year 5 were on their trip to Hampton Court today and so far the feedback has been great! Thank you to the Year 5 team as well as our parent helpers for organising and supporting the children.
On Wednesday, Mr Hope, Executive Headteacher, conducted a full English Review at the school alongside an HMI Inspector. Reading and Writing lessons were looked at in depth through book looks, lesson observations, learning walks, staff voice and pupil voice, as well as analysing the progression of skills taught throughout the year groups and curriculum coverage. I am beyond pleased to share with you that the feedback was glowing and Mr Hope was very complimentary about the children, their work and the efforts of the staff team. Special thank you and recognition must go to Mrs Lucas who hosted the review. Her efforts in developing the English curriculum have transformed the opportunites for our children. More information will be shared in the next edition of ‘Spotlight On…’
A big thank you from me to the parents and members of the community who supported the school this week - not only with visits to reception and the year 5 trip, but also with fixing the burst pipe in Year 1! As always your support is very much appreciated.
Have a wonderful weekend,
Mrs Lawrence
Headteacher and Safeguarding Lead
