Dear Parents and Carers,

It has been an enjoyable and busy week in school.

We are all very excited for Miss Burgham who started her maternity leave on Monday. Although we will miss her very much, we are all just waiting for some lovely news to share with you!

On Thursday, our Key Stage 2 children enjoyed an interactive local Historical Heroes Workshop and loved learning about the rich local history of Biggin Hill and Bromley. My thanks must go to Miss O’Mahony, Wider Curriculum Coordinator, for organising this for our school.

I must also thank our Year 6 House and Vice Captains for opening The Haven, our sensory garden, this week. It has been wonderful to see this project come to fruition - please keep an eye out for the next addition of Spotlight On, where you can find out all about the sensory garden project and our wonderful contributors. All I would like to say is a huge ‘thank you’ to everyone involved in bringing The Haven to life for our children.

Next week we will be sending our first addition of Same but Different, our new inclusion and wellbeing bulletin, which we hope you will find a very useful and informative read.

Next Friday (9th October), we will celebrate Mental Health Awareness Day and will be supporting the Young Minds #HelloYellow campaign. On Friday children can also wear
something yellow with their school uniform in exchange for £1 which will be donated to Young Minds.

During the week children will be taking part in some #HelloYellow activities,
learning more about resilience and also have the opportunity to spend time in the Haven.

I look forward to seeing everyone on Monday - have a fabulous weekend.

Mr Ellis
