Dear Parents and Carers,

I hope you have all had a fabulous week and are looking forward to the weekend ahead despite the miserable weather!

Thank you to the Y4 team and our volunteers who took our children to the Hornimans Museum to support their learning linked to the Amazon Rainforest.

You will have received communication from Mrs Lucas regarding World Book Day next Thursday, 5th March. To summarise there is no Forest School or Sporty Stars on this day and  ALL children are invited to dress in their World Book Day costumes. Thank you to Mrs Lucas for organising a lovely day for the children and also a wonderful Storytelling workshop on Wednesday 4th March.

We look forward to welcoming our families into school on Thursday 5th from 2.45pm to read with their children. Please use the external classroom doors and you are free to move between classrooms to read with siblings.

I am very much looking forward to judging the Decorate a Plate competition! A reminder that the book fair starts today after school in the KS2 hall and will also be open Monday, Tuesday and Thursday next week.

On Wednesday this week, the children took part in a live assembly to celebrate Lunar New Year - this year is the year of the horse symbolising energy, independence and passion.

Thank you to Mr Peart and the staff team for hosting the Maths Hub on Monday and showcasing our maths curriculum to teachers from across the borough.

As mentioned in a previous communication, we are hoping to extend our sports offer to our younger pupils. If you would be in interested in volunteering your time to support the school with this, please contact the office.

Have a great weekend,

Mrs Lawrence

Headteacher & Safeguarding Lead
