Dear Parents and Carers,

Thank you to everyone who felt able to contribute to our humanitarian aid appeal for Ukraine. We all hope that the items collected reach those in need quickly and that in some small way they ease the suffering of those who have been forced to flee from their homes.

A very special ‘well done’ to 3R for their brilliant class assembly this morning. Mr Devlin has informed me that he very much enjoyed hearing about all of their amazing learning - it was fantastic. Thank you to Ms Reed and the children for such a wonderful assembly.

This week it has been the turn of children in year 2 to have a SATS practice week. Again, the children have conducted themselves so well and have approached the week with positivity, endeavour and shown great maturity for children so young. Well done to everyone and thank you to all staff involved in test week.

I am also delighted to advise that the school has recently found out that we have maintained the Gold History Quality Mark, awarded by the Historical Association, for a further 3 years. This is a fantastic achievement for the school and one that both myself and the leadership team are extremely proud of. This award is testament to the quality of the exciting and engaging curriculum for history that we have here at BHPS. On behalf of the school, I would like to congratulate Miss Elliott, History Lead, for her continued work with history leadership across the school and also congratulate both Miss Elliott and Miss O’Mahony, Wider Curriculum Lead, for the achievement of this prestigious award for Biggin Hill Primary School!

On Tuesday I also sent an important letter regarding Comic Relief and Red Nose Day, which we will celebrate throughout the school on Friday 18th March 2022. We will once again be raising money for this cause and have set up a ParentPay page where donations can be made which will go directly to Comic Relief.

On a final note, you may not see me on the gate in the mornings as I will be teaching an additional Maths Booster, but I will endeavour to be there at the end of the day if you need to see me at all.

Thank you all for your enormous generosity towards our charitable endeavours
this half term.

Have a fabulous weekend.

My very best wishes,

Mrs Freeman
