Dear Parents and Carers,
It has been a busy week at school. Year 4 have had a fantastic time at Bushcraft doing all kinds of exciting activities. Rehearsals for the Year 6 production of The Lion King are in full swing and the Year 6 team are very impressed with how well the children have learned their lines!
Last Friday was Science Day. This year our school has been part of a partnership of local schools working with the Ogden Trust, a charity which promotes physics teaching in schools. As part of this, Year 3 and Year 5 have been trialling exciting new resources as part of their work on forces. For Science Day, each class was challenged with building rockets to launch using a special rocket launcher. The children worked scientifically to develop their rockets then carried out fair tests on the field to launch their rockets and measure how far they travelled. Congratulations to Maisie Blosse in Elmer Class whose rocket travelled 30m!
Next week is an exciting week for KS1 as Year 1 have their trip to Leeds Castle on Wednesday and Year 2 are visiting Hever Castle on Thursday.
Please remember that Friday the 27th of June is an INSET day and school is closed to children.
Finally I would like to say thank you to everyone who was involved in the Summer Fair and Colour Run. This was a fantastic event which lots of children and their families enjoyed. It raised valuable funds and we are very grateful for the hard work which went into organising this.
Have a wonderful weekend,
Mrs Lucas & Mrs Sharrock
