Dear Parents and Carers,

It has been a fantastic week in school. The children have been absolutely wonderful, and it has been lovely to see everyone looking so smart in their uniforms - the children are taking such pride in ensuring they look the part! The learning environment in the classrooms is really impressive, with children taking ownership of both their learning and their presentation. We are especially pleased with the way behaviour has continued to shine, supported by the introduction of POWER learning & Whole Body Learning:

P – Participate

Join in and take part in every activity.

O – Own Your Learning

Be responsible and take pride in your work.

W – Work Together

Talk, share, and interact with others.

E – Explore

Enjoy discovering new things and ask questions.

R – Reflect and Connect

Think about what you've learned and make connections.

The children are embracing this approach with enthusiasm and determination, working hard to ensure that they truly learn with POWER. More information about POWER and Whole Body Learning will be shared with our updated behaviour policy at the end of September.

A big thank you to Mrs Lucas who has organised our lunchtime clubs and provisions. Staff members will now be running lunch clubs including crochet, gardening, AI art, choir, ukulele, Spanish and many more! The children have requested their preferences and Mrs Lucas has informed the children of which clubs they are in for this half term. The children will be on a rota system throughout the year so everyone will get the opportunity to join a club of their choice!

Thank you to Ella Abbott and Mercedes Yearley for including BHPS in the Mayor’s Community Weekend. Ella and Mercedes joined us in school on Tuesday to create a Portrait Postbox. Each child helped to decorate the postbox with their finger prints and this will now be placed in Biggin Hill Library on Saturday 13th September. This is such a great opportunity to further extend our links with the local community and to be part of such a great community event.

A reminder that the FRIENDS of BHPS AGM is on 30th September at 9am. Please contact the Friends or the office if you would like any further information.

Have a wonderful weekend,

Mrs Lawrence

Headteacher and Safeguarding Lead
