Dear Parents and Carers,

We have had a fabulous Sports Day today at BHPS and it has been wonderful for both Mr Devlin and I to welcome everyone to school today. For our Reception children this will be very memorable as this is their first Sports Day, equally for our Year 6 children it will be their last before they move on to secondary school. I would like to thank both Mrs Sanford and Mr Day, PE Leads, for planning Sports Day today and Mrs Sanford for being on the field all day to ensure the day ran smoothly for us all to enjoy. We will report more about Sports Day in next week's newsletter, but for now we will leave you all with your own memories of the day!

I am very much looking forward to our Summer Fair which is taking place today between 3.30-5.30pm - please come along, bring your pennies and support our school as much as possible. Again, ‘thank you’ to the Friends of BHPS for planning this wonderful school community event for us all.

On Wednesday, we were very disappointed to have to cancel our mini Sports Day for our pre-school children, this was due to the wet weather and for the safety of the children. Pre-school mini Sports Day will now take place on Wednesday 6th July, 2-3pm on the school field.

On Tuesday, Miss Powell, Miss Turner and I welcomed our new Reception 22/23 children for a ‘taster’ session. Parents and carers were also able to stay for an informal tea or coffee in our KS2 hall where they could browse our school uniform and, most importantly, enjoy getting to know each other. My thanks must go to the Friends of Biggin Hill Primary School for helping us to provide such a warm welcome to all our new families.

If any families are attending the Biggin Hill Carnival in the Recreation Ground on Saturday, please do drop by to visit Mrs Helps, Mrs Sargeant and myself on our BHPS stall. This is such a wonderful community event with many different stalls and activities on offer for families with children of all ages to enjoy.

Thank you everyone for your donations of bottles and sweets last Friday and the delicious cakes yesterday and this morning. All of your donations are so very gratefully received and will be used at the Summer Fair.

On behalf of the leadership team at the school and the Friends of BHPS, myself and Mr Devlin look forward to welcoming you to the BHPS Summer Fair later today.

My very best wishes,

Mrs Lawrence
