Gold Coast Class
What a fabulous half term we had, the children immersed themselves into our topic 'Traditional Tales' answering the question 'Who lives happily ever after?'.
This half term we will be answering the question, 'What will I grow into?' Where the children will be learning about different life cycles of both plants and animals. We are hopefully going to be getting a class pet in the next few weeks as well as hatching eggs in our incubator. This will allow the children to see a life cycle happen in front of them.
In maths we will continue to practise counting and forming numbers to 20, counting out amounts and recognising one more and one less. We will also be learning about 2D and 3D shapes.
We have two school trips organised for this half term. The first will be to Godstone Farm on the 16th March 2020. The second will be a trip to Bromley Churchill Theatre to watch 'Oi Frog' on the 2nd April 2020. A letter for these will follow shortly.
In phonics we will continue to learn phase 2 sounds and use Jolly Phonics to support our learning. Below is a link to the songs:
We are also continuing to learn our tricky words. These are words that we can't sound out and just have to read by sight. When spelling them we use the letter names. We listen to the 'tricky words song' for both phase 2 and phase 3.

We are continuing to encourage the children to become more independent with getting themselves dressed. Please encourage this at home too.
