Welcome to our Pre-school Class! 

We look forward to a fun filled first term getting to know all of our new children and families as well as catching up on all the summer fun had by our returning children.

Our first term back will see us cover “All about me!” topic. This is a great child-centred topic engaging in activities specifically planned around the interests and lives of our children, giving the pre-school team a real insight into how our children think about their world and the world around them.

The theme helps children to realise that every person is unique and special. They also learn that every child's thoughts and ideas are important and no one person is more or less important than another

Maths Focus 

Looking at 2D shapes and shapes in the environment. Counting by rote and understanding that anything can be counted like the steps we take or leaves on the ground. Identifying Numbers 1 to 10. 

Phonics Focus 

Hear and say initial sounds in words. Linking sounds to letters, naming and sounding the letters of the alphabet. Looking at a selection of familiar stories linked to children’s interests and topics. 

Quick reminders! 

Forest School: Our Forest School session is Friday afternoon  Please remember your waterproofs, wellies and outdoor coat. We go to Forest School whatever the weather - so always be prepared! ! ⛅🌨️☔🌈

PE: Our Sporty Stars session is on a Wednesday afternoon. Your child will need to be wearing appropriate clothing inclusive of footwear to participate in physical activities safely (top, shorts/tracksuit bottoms, trainers with velcro fastening).
