Robert Rauschenberg Class
Our literacy work this half-term will be based around The Lost Happy Endings. We will concentrate on how to build cohesion within a paragraph. We will spend time evaluating our own work and that of other children and suggest how to improve it.
In maths we will convert between different units of measure, using our understanding of multiplying and dividing by 10, 100 and 1000. We will solve problems involving length, mass and capacity. We will work on achieving rapid recall of all times table and division facts to 12 x 12.
In science our big question is ‘Can you feel the force?’ We will learn about different forces including friction, air resistance and gravity. We will learn about Isaac Newton and discover why he was such an important scientist. We will explore how mechanisms can be used to allow a smaller force to have a greater affect.
In humanities our big question is ‘How can we re-discover the wonders of Ancient Egypt?’. We will learn where Egypt is and why people visit Egypt today. We will learn all about the Ancient Egyptians including the pyramids, pharaohs and Ancient Egyptian writing. This topic will include a visit to the British Museum.
