Rodney C & the Invicta Military-Vehicle Preservation Society (IMPS)

Posted: Fri 16th Jul 2021

It was a pleasure to speak to Rodney C, year 4, to find out all about his membership with IMPS, the Invicta Military-Vehicle Preservation Society. Rodney is currently the youngest IMPS member and also an Honorary Member of the Normandy Veterans Association.

Prior to Covid restrictions, Rodney often enjoyed trips with his fellow IMPS members to events in this country and has also visited Normandy and Haillicourt!

I was so inspired by the way Rodney spoke about meeting the veterans and how he was fascinated about their experiences. Rodney especially likes to collect memorabilia from WW1 and WW2 and told me that he likes to talk to the veterans because they served in the war.

Rodney hopes to go to Haillicourt, France during the summer to attend an event where there will be tanks, side cars and a pretend mini battle.

What do you like most about meeting the veterans?

“I like to talk to the veterans because they are so nice. They served in the war; it is respectful to talk to them and shake their hands.”

What is the most interesting part of IMPS?

“All of the veterans and military vehicles.”

I thoroughly enjoyed speaking to Rodney about his involvement with IMPS. We are all very proud of Rodney.
