BigginHillprimarySchoolprimarySchool Biggin Hill is a two form entry primary school in a beautiful rural setting on the outskirts of the London Borough of Bromley and is part of the Charles Darwin Academy Trust. Our school benets from wonderful outdoor facilities that allow us to use creative and engaging approaches to eaching and learning. We celebrate all successes with the children from good attendance to producing an outstanding piece of writing. All aspects of school life are praised through our values in the form of team points. Team points provide us with a way of promoting collaborative work as the children work collectively to achieve success. Curriculum At Biggin Hill Primary School we use an enquiry led approach that challenges our children to take control of their own learning through a broad and balanced curriculum. We deliver a curriculum that Excites engages and inspires children giving them a love of learning. Gives children the skills and knowledge to succeed as lifelong learners. Motivates children to question their own learning becoming inquisitive independent learners. Supports all children to reach their full potential and prepare them for future life. Literacy Through the use of carefully selected core texts that link to our challenge curriculum we develop childrens core literacy skills. The focus of this approach is on improving childrens writing by using exciting engaging texts that provide a model of excellence. Numeracy We have a clear focus on developing childrens skills both mental and written across the numeracy curriculum. Once these skills are taught we provide a range of opportunities for children to apply them in different contexts thus deepening their understanding of mathematical concepts. Inclusion We PRIDE ourselves in being an inclusive school providing access to our curriculum for all of our children regardless of specic needs gender race or beliefs. We ensure all children have the same opportunity to reach their full potential. Children of all abilities are given the same focus in ensuring their educational experiences are of the highest quality. We work closely with Bromley Local Authority and other external services to provide any required additional support. Community Biggin Hill is an extremely close community and we like to think we are at the heart of it. Our Friends of Biggin Hill organise a full calendar of fantastic events open to all members of the community including the traditional summer fete reworks night and a winter fayre. We also provide children in the local area with a range of extracurricular activities such as Taekwondo gymnastics Glee club and painting classes. We are proactive in promoting childrens talents in the wider community. Our choir regularly performs at the O2 as part of The Young Voices and our numerous sports teams represent the school in tournaments across the borough.
